Crispy Cinnamon-Spiced Bananas

Ingredients
  

  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg optional
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar or alternative sweetener
  • 2 slightly overripe bananas

Instructions
 

  • Cut the bananas into slices approximately ⅓ inch thick.
  • In a small mixing dish, combine the sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg if desired, then set aside.
  • Place a large skillet over medium-low heat and lightly spray with nonstick oil. Arrange the banana slices in the pan.
  • Distribute half of the spiced sugar mixture over the bananas and allow them to cook for 2 to 3 minutes.
  • Carefully turn the banana slices, then sprinkle with the remaining spice blend. Continue cooking for an additional 2 to 3 minutes, or until the fruit becomes tender and heated through.
