Ingredients

  • ¼ cup chopped onions
  • 2 garlic cloves finely minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 8-ounce packages refrigerated biscuit dough
  • ½ pound ground beef
  • 8 –16 slices of American cheese or preferred cheeseburger cheese

Instructions

  • In a large skillet set over medium heat, cook the ground beef with the onions and garlic, stirring occasionally, until the meat is fully browned and no longer pink. Drain off any excess fat and set the mixture aside.
  • Unpack one can of refrigerated biscuits and gently roll each one out to slightly flatten.
  • Lay a slice of cheese on top of each biscuit round.
  • Distribute the cooked beef mixture evenly among the eight prepared biscuits, spooning it over the cheese.
  • (Optional) Add an extra slice of cheese atop the beef filling on each biscuit for a richer flavor.
  • Unroll the second can of biscuits and roll each piece to match the size of the bottoms.
  • Cover each filled biscuit with a flattened top biscuit and press the edges together using a fork to seal securely.
  • Bake in a preheated 400°F oven for approximately 10 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and the centers are heated through.
  • Serve warm, accompanied by ketchup, mustard, or your favorite burger garnishes if desired.
