Blue Christmas Truffles

These elegant truffles offer a luscious white chocolate ganache infused with the vibrant flavor and hue of blue curacao. Delicate citrus notes combined with the creamy sweetness create a truly festive confection that melts blissfully on the tongue.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 tablespoons blue curacao
  • 1/2 cup sanding sugar
  • 2 cups white chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream

Instructions
 

  • Place the white chocolate chips and heavy cream into a bowl safe for microwave use. Heat in intervals of 30 seconds at medium power, stirring thoroughly after each burst, until the mixture becomes silky and homogenous.
  • Incorporate the blue curacao into the smooth ganache, stirring until fully blended.
  • Cover the bowl and refrigerate the mixture for two hours to allow it to firm.
  • After chilling, prepare a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Transfer the sanding sugar to a shallow dish.
  • Using a teaspoon, scoop heaping portions of the ganache and shape them into balls by rolling between your palms.
  • Coat each truffle evenly by rolling it in the sanding sugar, then place them on the prepared tray.
  • Once all truffles are formed, refrigerate the tray for an additional hour to ensure proper setting.
  • Store truffles in the refrigerator until ready to serve.

Notes

For a more vivid blue hue, particularly if the brand of curacao used is pale, a drop of blue food coloring may be added.
