Ingredients
  

  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 tablespoons dill pickle relish or substitute with sweet relish, omitting sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 2 teaspoons yellow mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon finely minced onion
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons natural ketchup optional; see note
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  • 1/2 cup quality mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon granulated sugar

Instructions
 

  • Combine all listed ingredients in a mixing bowl and stir thoroughly until well incorporated. For optimal taste, cover and refrigerate the sauce for a minimum of 2 hours before use, though it can be enjoyed immediately. Stir or shake well prior to serving. Store refrigerated in a sealed container and consume within two weeks. This recipe yields approximately 3/4 cup of sauce.

Notes

Though traditional Big Mac Sauce excludes ketchup, its inclusion enriches the flavor. Feel free to omit it for a purist version. For a smoky twist, a touch of barbecue sauce can be added. Those who enjoy heat may wish to incorporate hot sauce or a dash of cayenne pepper.
